Boron carbide

Boron carbide (B4C)

Boron carbide or Tetrabor is a chemical compound of the element boron and carbon with the chemical formula B4C. This material is an extremely hard ceramic; it is one of the hardest known materials, after the diamond. Due to its high hardness, chemical inertness, and high neutron absorption cross section, is well suited for a variety of industrial applications.

This ceramic is widely used for Wear parts such as blasting nozzles, abrasives for ultrasonic cutting, nuclear applications, etc.
